TEDxKāpiti

The Client

TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” These events are organised by passionate individuals who seek to uncover new ideas and to share the latest research in their local areas that spark conversations in their communities. TEDx events include live speakers and are recorded. More than 3,000 events are now held annually across the globe.

The Need

Lemonface Creative was brought on board as design / strategy lead to create, produce and roll out the materials used in support of, and in promotion of TEDxKāpiti, a truly BIG event for our local community.

The Concept

Every TEDx event is given a theme, and for Kāpiti / Horowhenua 2022 we chose to embrace the theme "emerge" for ours. The visual concept we delivered was raw with rough edges and intentionally unpolished in its execution. We wanted to show bold ideas, from bold people, using their bold voices and proudly emerging, in much the same way that Kāpiti was emerging from the shadow of its big brother Wellington by hosting this inaugural and prestigious event for our community.

The Execution

The creative included theme development and creative, social media and website visuals, sponsorship pitch documents, programme, lanyards, t-shirt design, and overseeing the creative delivered through props and engagement pieces on the day.

The Testimonial

"Lemonface Creative was brought on board as design lead to produce and roll out the materials used in support of, and for the promotion of this BIG event for our local community. They were proud and delighted to play such an integral part of TEDxKāpiti. Thank you Sarah-Jayne and Sean! Your vision and vibe for this event was to be bold and imperfect... in other words, REAL. #nailedit"
