Speldhurst Country Estate

The Client

Speldhurst Country Estate is the fastest growing lifestyle retirement village in Horowhenua. Opened in 2016, the estate was developed by the Bishop family, who have kept the character and history of the area on which Speldhurst was built. Their values are in tradition and history while bringing prosperity to the district.

The Need

As the estate grows, there was a need to provide the residents with a one stop shop for information - an intranet. And, for prospective residents, a website to market the magic of what's on offer at Speldhurst. Now fully established with more growth to follow, it was time for a brand refresh, for prospective and existing residents alike.

The Concept

Created with their values in mind, the concept for their digital presence was rooted in warmth, tradition, simplicity and community. The refresh concept was focused on three things - life at Speldhurst (the experience), the district (pride of place) and the estate (people and its history). The new identity had to convey wisdom, warmth and tradition as well as prosperity, attracting new residents to the estate and provide existing residents with a brand they could be proud of.

The Execution

We creative directed the wider team involved in the project (photography, content, social strategy and development) to ensure every piece of the puzzle factored in the values. We created a monogram to use where the logo was inappropriate, colour palette, typography and social media graphics. We directed the brand shoot and coordinated design including development of an intranet for existing residents with accessibility an absolute priority, plus the outward facing website to attract prospective residents and provide key information. Finally, we developed the social media strategy document for the team at Speldhurst to hit the ground running.
